First, the reassuring statistics: Osoyoos is one of the driest places in Canada, and summer rain tends to arrive as a brief, dramatic thundershower that clears within the hour. But if the clouds do settle in, the town has answers.

Taste indoors

Wine tasting is a roofed activity. A grey day is the perfect excuse for the cellar rooms of Nk’Mip or a leisurely crawl of the Golden Mile Bench, where the tasting bars are warm and the pours don't care about weather.

Culture & museums

The Nk’Mip Desert Cultural Centre's indoor galleries deserve unhurried time, and the Osoyoos & District Museum, a 15-minute walk from us, charms with pioneer and border-town history.

Rain on warm water is objectively pleasant. Our hot tub plus a cool drizzle equals the cheapest spa experience in the Okanagan. The guest laundry also quietly appreciates rainy-day usefulness.

Stretch lunch at a vineyard restaurant, then coffee (we're a two-minute walk from Starbucks) and a bakery run. By the time you're done, the desert sun is usually back on shift.
